The Package

In the opening scene the camera shot used is establishing shot, as it is able to capture the scene. Then as the first character walks into the scene we are able to see a long shot of when the character about to open the door, which switches to a mid shot of the character approaching the door, which switches to a mid shot of the character about to open the door. At that same time and moment narrative technique is used; simultaneous action for the first characters hand opening the door, with an additional close up shot and then switches to a mid shot of the character doing the same action. Moreover, the scene includes a shot reverse shot, as character entering the door from the outside, while entering the door from a another perspective shot from the inside of the room.

As the fist character sits down to exchange the package with the second character, a mid shot is display showing the body of the second character, but little is shown of the face. This is restriction as it is difficult to recognize the second characters identity. A 180 degree shot is used to capture the conversation between the two characters and the exchange over of the package. At the end the first character walks out of the room with the package, this is to capture the view of out of the room. Again as he exits the room simultaneous action is used, just like he entered the room with cross cutting action. In addition, the convention codes used is action code; as to what is the first characters next movement. A long shot is used to display character movement coming out of the room.

in the next sequence of the thriller, omniscient is used as their a point of view shot illustrating the character being followed, though the character does not know the audience is able to know. Simultaneous action is then used to reveal the appearance of the mysterious third character following the first character. Although, the third characters identity is not reveal. It goes on to show the first character, still being followed by the third character down the stairs he turns round. It this action shot the audience are able to view P.O.V shot of the first character turning around. In the next sequence an transition of the characters being knocked out with the use of blackout. As the first character begins to come to his sense blur transition is used to create the affect in a P.O.V shot. The scene the cuts to the third character handing the package to the second character, which the audience begins to understand who the antagonist are in the thriller as it fades out with dramatic music.
